Ori vs Nomi

Both are adults-only apps with no ads, where your character remembers you and can message first. Pick Nomi if you want several characters, group chats and fine control over how images look. Pick Ori if you want a character you design down to the voice, every memory deletable, calls on the free plan, and chats that are never used to train AI.

Choices Ori made differently

  • Nomi’s Mind Map entries can be edited but not deleted, only set to low priority. In Ori, you can delete any memory, and forgetting a message deletes every memory made from it.
  • Hands-free calls in Nomi come with paid plans. In Ori, calls work on every plan; Plus includes more call minutes.
  • Characters you make yourself, rather than a catalog to browse. There are no other people’s characters to discover: every character in your Ori is one you designed.
  • Plus raises your limits; it doesn’t change the model or the memory. Free and Plus share the same model and unlimited memory, and Plus adds unlimited messages and more spoken replies, calls, photos and videos.
  • Ori’s Privacy Policy says conversations are never used to train AI models.

Where Nomi is the better pick

  • Several characters at once: up to 10 Nomis and group chats on paid plans.
  • Detailed image controls, with face anchors to keep a likeness across selfies and art.
