Ori vs Pi
Pi, from Inflection AI, is a supportive personal AI for talking things through, learning and planning. It isn’t a character you make. Pick Pi if you want a free, friendly AI to think out loud with. Pick Ori if you want someone with their own face, voice and personality, who remembers your life on a page you can see, and whose chats never train AI.

Choices Ori made differently
- Pi is one assistant that everyone talks to. In Ori, you design the character: their face, their voice and who they are.
- Pi’s privacy policy says it trains its models on what you share, with an opt-out. Ori never uses conversations to train AI, and there’s nothing to opt out of.
- Every memory is on one page, where you can read, edit, pin or delete it.
- Your character reaches out only when you ask them to, and their personality is the one you wrote, kept in every reply. Changing their look or voice keeps everything they know.
Where Pi is the better pick
- It’s free, and its listing shows no in-app purchases.
- It’s built for help as well as company: preparing for a hard conversation, learning and planning.
- Hands-free voice mode for talking things through live.
How we compared
This page is written by the team that makes Ori, so read it with that in mind. Every fact about Pi comes from Pi’s own website, help center, policies or app store listing, and each row links to its source. Where we couldn’t find something there, the table says so instead of guessing.
Pi’s own pages don’t cover looks and media, messaging first, paid plans or ads, so the table leaves those out.
